Competitive Benchmarking

See how you stack up against competitors in your category.

What is Competitive Benchmarking?

Competitive benchmarking compares your AI visibility metrics against:

  • Category averages

  • Top performers in your category

  • Direct competitors

  • Industry leaders

Why it matters: You can't improve what you don't measure. Benchmarking shows where you stand and where you need to improve.

Key Metrics

Share of Voice

What it is: Your percentage of total AI mentions in your category

Example:

Market breakdown:

  • Competitor A: 600 mentions (40% share) - #1

  • Your Business: 450 mentions (30% share) - #2

  • Competitor B: 300 mentions (20% share) - #3

  • Others: 150 mentions (10% share)

Total AI mentions: 1,500

Why it matters: Share of voice predicts market share. Higher share = more visibility = more conversions.

Rankings:

  • Top 10%: Category leaders

  • Top 30%: Strong challengers

  • Top 50%: Solid performers

  • Bottom 50%: Need improvement

Interpretation:

  • +20% or more: Excellent performance

  • +10% to +20%: Above average

  • -10% to +10%: Average performance

  • -20% to -10%: Below average
